Jews suffer again

In New Brunswick, NJ, many tombstones were knocked over in a Jewish cemetery. Celia Tracy, who is 80 years old, learned that the tombstones of her in-laws were knocked over. The prosecuters in the Middlesex County said that 499 gravestones were knocked over in total from January 1st and January 7th. Neither the Jewish community or law officials have witnessed a horrible event like this. A lot of the headstones, including some that date back to the 1920's were broken or cracked. The Police categorized the incident as a bias incident by January 8th. The day before they could not label it as a hate crime because there were no suspects or motives that could be found.
None of the tombstones were marked by graffiti or swastikas, which was very common in past incidents of vandalism in Jewish cemeteries. Some tombstones weighed up to 2,000 pounds, so the rampage had to be more than one person and take several hours to complete.
The first attack on January 1 had only 17 tombstones knocked over. The police did not announce it because it was believed to bed teenage vandals. On the second incident, hundred of tombstones were knocked over. There was even a row of knocked over baby graves. “Can you imagine, they picked on dead babies.” - Rabbi Bassous.
Jews have been blamed for many incidents over the centuries. From Jesus' times when the Egyptians enslaved the Jews and looked down to them to the Holocaust when Hitler killed every Jewish person he could because they did not pertain to the Aryan race. We as a community need to give the Jewish religion a break. Causing them so much pain and suffering is horrible. In today's society, you can even hear teenagers making racist comments about Jews. That says a lot about the world we live in now.
